About Me

About Me | Who is behind the scenes?

Hi, I am Edi- pronounced EDGY- and I am the face behind this lifestyle blog.

About Me

I am a mother. Wife. New blogger. Former Physical Therapist. Pilates instructor.

I have been living in the U.S since October 2011.

I am married to a very musical, talented, loving and way too cool American guy. We together have a too cute two year old girl and are expecting our second child- another girl. I am 31 weeks as I write to you.

I met my husband in November 2008 in South America. We kept a long distance relationship until the next time we saw each other again- six months later.

In the meantime, we talked every single day through Skype and by phone. Those were hard days…

After traveling in and out of the country, my husband finally moved to Brazil in 2010 where we got married and lived for more than a year traveling to a few places.

Until recently, I was working as a Pilates instructor. But finding out I was expecting my second child, I decided to give a stay at home mom life a try.

And let me tell you, it has been very rewarding, BUT also one of the most challenging things I have ever done in my life.

My children are the reason I am on a personal mission to be the best version of myself.

Personal struggles

I have lots of fears and struggles in life, and I am hoping to conquer them all so I can live life to the fullest.

Moving to the U.S. was one of the most life-changing experiences that happened to me. It was also one of the most- if not the most- challenging things I had to do in life.

For a few years in a row, I isolated myself from people because I was too disoriented, out of sync with life around me and disliked life here.

The sense of loss of identity was the most terrifying feeling I got to experience. I felt like the sky was falling on my head and pushing me down a hole.

My self-esteem, self-confidence and identity felt like they were gone. I couldn’t recognize myself whatsoever but (and) still had to be social and nice with those around me that had no clue what was really going on in my world.

I started getting more comfortable with the culture as I became a mother. My feelings have completely transformed as time passed.

Finding balance in life, happiness in small things and living life on my own terms are some of the biggest goals I have now. I hope that through this blog I can inspire you to do the same.

Why this blog?

Having a blog was an old wish but I never had the guts to start one! I was too self-conscious with the language and about the way I would deliver the message.

But then in February 2017 I took the plunge and started working on this blog with two different ideas. One, to do and work on something in my “spare” time while I was at home with my child. And two, to connect and feel more close to people.

I am coming to realize that working to build this blog has become a useful personal tool. I am holding myself accountable with personal discipline, life plans and behavior. It is helping me to improve my self-confidence for things I have never thought I was capable of.

Why this blog name?

I chose this blog name inspired by the life I want for me and my little family of four.

My tendency to worry to much leads me to complicate easy things to solve. Over time, it became such an inconvenient habit that started greatly affecting the way I live life.

As a mother now, I feel a great need to conquer those struggles that have been holding me back for so long.

What is this blog all about?

My Simple Daily Life is a lifestyle blog and my hope is that it will be all about inspiring us to be our best, do what we love and want and live life on our own terms.

As for now, I will be writing about different topics that I believe would be helpful such as parenthood, motherhood, organization, personal life, money and budget, exercise and DIY’s.

My why’s and what’s will change as my blog journey goes on and I discover my groove blogging. But in the meantime, I hope to connect and get to know YOU better!

So stick around and let’s be friends!

See you around the blog,

Edi <3
